Jessica Guess is from Bastrop, Lousiana. She moved to Hattiesburg in 2010 to help her husband, Thomas, further his military career. She has been a member of the Jump’In Staff since fall of 2017.

Coach Jessica wears many hats in the gym. In fall 2018, Coach Jessica took on the positions of Gymstars Recreational Gymnastics Director, Evening Floor Manager, and MS Rebounders Team Coach. You will see her teaching BoundeRoos, GymStars, SuperStars Pre-Team and the Xcel Bronze/Silver Teams. You also might catch her on the weekends helping with a fun Birthday Party or Parent Night Out Open Gym.

When she was younger she trained as a competitive gymnast for four years at Twin City Gymnastics and Bayou Gymnastics of Monroe, LA. After leaving gymnastics she became a JV and Varsity cheerleader for the Bastrop High Rams. After graduation she gained coaching experience teaching summer camp, preschool classes, and recreational gymnastics at Bayou Gymnastics. She now holds a Bachelors in Business Management and Marketing from the University of Louisiana at Monroe, and works during the day as a part time office manager at Robert F. Hester PhD, LLC. She and her husband have two boys John and James. When she is not coaching or working she likes to serve at her church, Venture, and enjoys traveling, boating, four-wheeler riding, and spending time with friends and family.

Jessica says gymnastics definitely has had an impact on the person she has become today. Looking back, she realizes she learned more than just how to point her toes and execute some awesome skills. Gymnastics instilled self-discipline, work ethic, self-motivation and so many more values that you take into adulthood. She hopes to help other gymnast gain these same life-skills from the sport. For her coaching is about personal growth on the journey to gold.
