Infinity Cheer Program
Our Infinity Cheer Program consists of recreational, pre-team, and competitive classes. We hold tryouts in April for our Diamonds and Lady Paragon squads.
Members of our classes and squads learn stunting, jumps, tumbling, and cheer dances. Infinity Cheer is a great place to learn the skills necessary to tryout for community and school teams.
Level 1 Cheer
Our Level 1 Cheer Class focuses on fundamental floor acrobatics necessary for cheerleading, including strength training, flexibility, and proper technique.
In a basic cheer tumbling class, students work toward mastering the following essential skills:
Forward and backward rolls: Students practice rolling their bodies in a controlled, fluid motion. This teaches body control and introduces the sensation of going upside down.
Handstands: The handstand is a foundational skill that builds upper body strength, core engagement, and balance. Drills may involve wall walks or spotting.
Cartwheels: This involves kicking the legs over the body in a sideways motion while supporting weight on the hands. Students are taught proper hand and foot placement for form and control.
Round-offs: A variation of a cartwheel, the round-off is a critical power-generating move that ends with the feet together, preparing the tumbler for backward skills.
Bridges and backbends: These skills build spinal flexibility and shoulder strength, which are vital for performing backward tumbling.
Bridge kickovers: Once a student can hold a strong bridge, they learn to kick over from the bridge position to land on their feet.
Front and back walkovers: These skills combine the flexibility of a bridge with a handstand to create a fluid, controlled pass over the head.
Mini-Finity Pre-Team
The Mini-Finity Cheer Pre-Team is the next step after the Level 1 Cheer Class. In our pre-team All-Star cheer class, athletes learn the foundational skills and techniques needed for competitive cheerleading in a low-pressure, technique-focused setting. The program is designed to bridge the gap between recreational cheerleading and the higher commitment of competitive teams.
Motions and dance: Athletes learn the proper execution of fundamental cheer motions, and practice combining them into short, choreographed dance segments.
Jumps: Students practice and perfect the basic technique for jumps, including toe touches, hurdlers, and pikes, with a focus on improving height and form.
Stunting basics: Participants learn the foundational concepts of stunting, including proper grips, body control, and communication between bases, flyers, and back spots. This builds the trust and teamwork necessary for more advanced stunts.
Tumbling: The curriculum focuses on basic tumbling skills and proper technique, which is crucial for building a solid foundation. These skills often include:
Forward and backward rolls
Cartwheels and round-offs
Backbends and kickovers
Transitions and formations: Athletes learn how to move smoothly between different formations on the floor. This teaches them spacial awareness and helps prepare them for a complete routine.
Performance and choreography: Students learn how to put all the skills together into a complete, albeit basic, routine. This includes performing to counts and developing showmanship for end-of-season exhibitions.
Infinity Cheer Competition Team
Our Infinity Cheer Diamonds and Lady Paragons All Star Cheer squads are at the top of our cheer program!
A Level 1 All-Star cheer team is an entry-level team focused on building foundational skills, including basic tumbling like cartwheels and walkovers, and simple stunts with flyers on two legs.
A Level 2 team progresses to include back and front handsprings, more complex stunting with extended two-legged stunts and single-legged stunts at prep level, and straight-ride basket tosses. The primary difference is that Level 2 builds upon the fundamentals of Level 1 by introducing more difficult skills and combinations.
Level 1 All-Star Cheer Team
Skill Focus: This is the beginner level, emphasizing the mastering of fundamental techniques.
Tumbling: Athletes perform basic skills such as cartwheels, round-offs, forward and backward rolls, and walkovers.
Stunting: Stunts involve flyers lifted to a knee or waist-level on one leg or a two-footed prep.
Pyramids: Flyers are allowed to be lifted on two legs at an extended level, with bracing from other flyers on prep level or below.
Basket Tosses: Not yet included at this level.
Level 2 All-Star Cheer Team
Skill Focus: Teams build on Level 1 skills, increasing the difficulty and introducing more advanced techniques.
Tumbling: Athletes execute back and front handsprings, and can connect Level 1 tumbling into a handspring.
Stunting: Includes two-legged stunts at an extended level, and single-legged stunts at prep level without a brace.
Pyramids: Flyers are permitted to do half-twisting movements to extended two-legged stunts and prep-level one-legged stunts.
Basket Tosses: Straight-ride basket tosses are allowed, where the flyer doesn't perform any skill in the air.
